It appears that high taxes are forcing Stephanie Dee and husband Tommy Dee to sell their three-story, fully furnished HGTV Dream Home in Islamorada, FL. Although they're getting rid of the house, they are keeping the 2008 hybrid sport utility vehicle, as well as other winnings.
The couple stated that it was always their intention to sell the home due to the anticipated tax burdens associated with the house and other winnings. The Dees did spend a family vacation in the home, but said moving to the beach residence was never a viable option because of the heavy tax load. The feeble housing market and recent economic slump led to a series of reductions in the asking price of the beach house.
