Painted White Floorboards Shabby Chic Style 2012

Last week I was offered a new home - the equivalent of the flat I have now but on the ground floor and with the outside space we currently crave. Ultimately after a long 12 hour think I decided that we didn't have enough social links in the area to feel secure and the kitchen/bathroom area was a cupboard with no room for a fridge! So, the search continues. When we looked around there were untreated floorboards throughout and it got me thinking...what's my ideal flooring solution? Yes, you've guessed it, white painted floorboards!

Shabby Chic Dream Home 2012

Everyone has an idea of what their dream home would look like. Mine would need to be Georgian with big windows and wooden shutters. Lots of light and polished floorboards!

Some kind of wall to wall library would be nice - I am a bit of a bookworm!

And a wardrobe "room" might be a great idea!

A free standing roll top bath in a bathroom that includes a fireplace is definately on the list...

A big, white sleigh bed? Don't mind if I do!

Somewhere light to host dinner parties and late night coffees...yes!

Decorating with black and white

If you are under the illusion that this is a set out of the 101 Dalmatians flick, then you could be forgiven for feeling so. Conceived and given shape by interior designer Tom Atwood, these absolutely stunning interiors try to capture the beauty of modern minimalist design and style by using various shapes, patterns, curves and stripes etched in nothing but just black and white. Even the staircase keep the contrast, along with uber-cool rugs and bars on the ceiling. The ambience and the beauty created by the harmonious existence of vast dissimilarity in shades, are truly inspirational.

White Interior Design Inspiration

A castle is not exactly my dream home and if you only add white and black, then it’s worse. But there is something about the White Castle and I’m not sure what. Believe me I’ve been looking at these pictures for over an hour now and it’s somehow addictive. Designed by architect Steve Blatz for a private art dealer - Olivier Renaud-ClĂ©ment - the 1,500-square-foot immaculate city loft was intended to showcase his collection of art & Italian design from the 60s and 70s.

The clean sharp shapes, the mixture between a highly modern architecture and the furniture, the no-doors living space plus the monochromatic scheme really appeal to me. Do you like this white palazzo? - T Style Magazine

Inka Project designed by Massimillano Cicconi is the latest addition to Kerasan’s Acqua Libre collection of modular furniture and sanity ware for bathroom. As usual with modular systems, new products are highly customizable and would be able to find their place in every bathroom. Although with it colors it would be best for black and white bathroom designs. The main product of the Inka Project are washbasins. There as single as double models available. The single washbasin has a square design in two sizes: 40×40 cm or 60×40 cm to 17 cm in height. The double version would take twice more space. The Inka Project washbasins can be combined with furniture like drawers to create a practical and complete corner dedicated to the daily cleaning. There are a lot of ceramic finishes and glossy lacquered furniture combinations available. If you search for nice products for black and white bathroom, probably Inka Project from Kerasan is the right choice for you.
